Workshops to Prepare for Individualised Funding

We’re sure you will agree there is so much information going around at the moment about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). So how do you make sense of it all? One great way is to go along to one of the many free workshops that are being offered around the state.

The City of Sydney Inclusion (Disability) Action Plan

Cover of the Inclusion Action Plan 2014-2017. It features a mosaic of pictures of people with disability on the top half of the page and the title of the plan on the bottom half of the page.
The City of Sydney has drafted a new Inclusion (Disability) Action Plan, and they would like to know what you think about it.

With one in five people in Australia living with a disability, the City of Sydney is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive city for everyone. The new plan has been developed in consultation with the City’s Inclusion (Disability) Advisory Panel, building on the progress made from previous plans to improve inclusion and access across the City of Sydney.

The draft Inclusion (Disability) Action Plan 2014 -2017 sets out six key directions as well as priority actions to help people with a disability to get around, access City information, participate in cultural and recreational activities and have a say on shaping the City’s future.

The six key directions are:

  • People of all abilities can get around the city
  • Visitors and tourists of all abilities are welcome
  • People of all abilities live and work in the City
  • All people have access to City information
  • People of all abilities have a say
  • People of  all abilities are a part of city life
You can download the Action Plan at:

www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/community/community-support/people-with-a-disability
